Bracelets
A selection of distinctive and very wearable bracelets.
Ranging from richly textural beaded spiral weaves, to substantial and intricately constructed silver chainmaille bracelets.
The chainmaille patterns currently used are the 'Byzantine' and the 'Inca Puno'.
The Inca Puno is constructed using a repetetive 'knot' formation, thought to represent the clenched fist of the Incan warrior, and was traditionally given as a mark of courage to young men in a tribe.
The Byzantine is an ancient sequential chain pattern formed from two basic building blocks; the knot formation of the Inca Puno and a double connector pair.
The spiral weaves use a variety of techniques, ancient and contemporary, often combined, and a mixture of materials and 'found' objects. The use of different sized beads produces richly textured, undulating pieces that are 3-dimensional in form.
